This is a great odd video. I love it. It’s now up there with my fave all-time videos.
The White Rabbits veer away from their usual sound with this album. This is a great tune. Initially I was going to post one of their earlier songs, but I loved the vibe on this album, Milk Famous, their latest.
This american band has released 3 albums and 2 EPs. They’ve gone from an indie rock hard-rhythm sound to more of a Psychedelic Pop sound with the lead singer moving up to a falsetto voice. I can’t wait to here what their next album sounds like.
A kick-ass song from Angry Vs The Bear. I don’t know much about the band, other than they’re from the UK, you can dance to any of their songs, and they probably spend as much on their instruments as they do on hair gel. Here’s hoping they sign a record deal sometime soon.
An uninspiring psychedelic video.
The Trailer Trash Tracys win bonus points for their name and this song would definitely not be heard anywhere near a trailer park. This is off their only album, Ester.
This twangy guitar driven band would set the mood to any David Lynch project. Their music has been heard on the TV series, The Killing, which is how I discovered them. They’re about half shoegaze, and half sad stripper music, which makes them perfect for the Lipstick Emo.
A great live video with an extended version of the song.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros jam up a storm allowing anyone of the band members to do a refrain. This is off their 2nd and most recent album, Here.
This gang-sized band could probably take Arcade Fire in a spoon fight. They released two albums and one EP and here’s hoping for more from this distinct sounding band.
A great video with a younger version of Danny Brown rapping and doing kid things. My favourite moment in the video is when he crosses the street holding his mom’s hand.
This indie Detroit rapper has the perfect music and rap style for this particular song. It has turned me back onto rap, but it stands miles away from the rest of his music, transcending the rap genre. This is a non-album single.
Danny Brown has released 3 albums and 3 EPs. You can also download a lot of his Mixtapes gratis from his website. Here’s hoping for more songs like this from him. If you’re not into rap, you probably won’t like any of his other music.
A horrid, horrid video for such a nice ditty. Pity.
Friends (not to be confused with the Monica/Chandler Friends) give us a nice danceable electronic indie pop tune. I can picture this song playing in the background during a club scene on CSI SVU. This is off their debut album, Manifest!
This American band from Broklyn has only just released the one album earlier this year. Even though each song on the album is pretty varied, they always mange to stay in their genre. Perfect for an indie movie soundtrack.
